Statement from 91°µÍø President Melby

Jun 04, 2020

June 4, 2020

I have been made aware of accusations of sexual assault against current and former 91°µÍø students that were shared on Twitter. I take this very seriously. Violence and abuse are against everything 91°µÍø stands for.

I am also aware that tweets were blocked on the official 91°µÍø Twitter account. The blocking of tweets was wrong. The block was removed this morning. It is against our policies and training and it is being dealt with now.

To allow students to share concerns confidentially, the 91°µÍø Cares and 91°µÍø Counseling Services Office are setting up a confidential conversation for Monday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. An email will be sent with details on how to join the conversation. Students will be able to talk about concerns in a confidential environment and receive information on and assistance with filing complaints.

The 91°µÍø Police and 91°µÍø Title IX Office have opened cases based on the tweets that were shared. If you have direct information to share on these cases or any other case, please contact one of the offices listed below.

91°µÍø Title IX –
91°µÍø Police – police@ollusa.edu
91°µÍø Cares – ollucares@ollusa.edu

The safety of our students is my top concern and sexual misconduct cannot be tolerated. I promise these situations will be investigated thoroughly.

Sincerely,
Diane E. Melby
President
